3herosoft DVD to AVI Converter is aimed to rip DVD contents to various audio and video formats. It has a nice and intuitive interface, very similar to those of other converters; therefore, it is improbable that you find any difficulties while using it.
The program supports extracting contents from not only DVD discs, but also DVD folders and ISO files. However, it does not support ISO image files as source. After a source is selected, the program automatically shows a list of chapters and titles, which you can expand easily. You do not need to rip all the contents, as you can select only those chapters you wish to convert. What is more, you can even trim the videos to extract only a segment from them. You can also choose audio track, subtitles and angles when they are available. However, the program does not let you take advantage of those video formats that support various audio tracks or subtitles. Although the software lets you preview the videos, you will not be able to take snapshots of given scenes.
Differently from what is suggested in the title, the application supports a wide range of output formats, instead of just AVI. The supported video formats include FLV, MKV, MP4, MPG, WMV, RM, OGG, TS and SWF. Additionally, several audio formats are also allowed. In order to help you perform successful conversions, there are multiple profiles to choose from. These profiles can be modified and new profiles can be created as well.
